Civil Rights

Supports equality of every constituent regardless of Race, Religion, Creed, Color, Sex or Ethnic Persuasion. Our diversity has been our success.

We all deserve better opportunities, more opportunities and the opportunity to have the opportunity to do or accomplish whatever we want. Their should not be artificial financial road blocks to hinder our progress.

Women should be able to secure prescription coverage for birth control. Why is that men may receive Viagra or its counter parts which are covered under most prescription drug programs but women must pay large deductibles or pay in full for birth control prescriptions? This is unfair! Is it not less expensive to pay 300/400 dollars per year as opposed to$7000 to $8000.00 for a normal child delivery? You do the math, I have already. As an economist, it is far less expensive to protect up front than to pay after the fact.

Why should a divorced or single mother be totally responsible for child care and the father does not have to help pay. He only needs to provide a predetermined amount for child support. That support does not cover clothing and shoes for a growing child. That support dose not pay for the nutritional needs of that child. That support does not cover the cost of shelter and heat and water. It greatly helps, but the single mother in most instances earns less that the father of the child and thus must bear a greater financial obligation. (The same holds true also in the reverse case of a father raising children alone).

I fully support and advocate that we need to improve our system. We need sound leadership. We need leadership that has experience in creating WIN/WIN Opportunities for all. In this case, everyone’s Rights must be protected and valued. Everyone must step up to the plate and say that we are all equal and we will work towards equality for every State of Michigan resident. That is my promise to each of you. People First!!
