A complete overhaul of antiquated systems is desperately needed. Albert would relish the opportunity as an economist and political scientist to be part of a legislative committee to restructure our tax system. Our Republican friends continue to call for tax reductions and rollbacks. However, taxes are how our state provides the community services of police and fire protection that we demand. They provide the roads and the plows that keep them clean in winter. Taxes protect our Senior Citizens health and prescription requirements and allow them a better life than their parents before them. It is not about paying more in taxes, it is about a fair and balanced taxation system that maintains parity when the economy is strong and when it is weak. Albert will use All available knowledge to resolve this issue with our governor and the constituents he cares deeply for.
